Enzastaurin (LY-317615) is a potent PKC beta inhibitor for PKCβ, PKCα, PKCγ and PKCε with IC50 of 6 nM, 39 nM, 83 nM and 110 nM, respectively. Binding to the ATP-binding site, enzastaurin (LY317615) selectively inhibits protein kinase C beta, an enzyme involved in the induction of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF)-stimulated neo-angiogenesis. This agent may decrease tumor blood supply and so tumor burden. [1][2]
