Details:

Apoptosis activator 2, a cell permeable indoledion compound, promotes the cytochrome c-dependent oligomerizatioin of Apaf-1 into the mature apoptosome. Increases procaspase-9 processing and subsequent caspase-3 activation. Its cytotoxicity is selective towards tumor cells (IC₅₀ < 10 μM for Jurkat, Molt-4, and CCRF-CEM). Apoptosis Activator 2 shows weak or no effect on normal cells or cells that are deficient in caspase-3 or Apaf-1.^[1][2]
