PP 242 is a potent and selective mTOR inhibitor. PP242 is a first selective inhibitor that targets ATP domain of mTOR. PP242 targets the ATP domain of mTOR (IC50 = 8 nM). PP-242 inhibits other PI 3-Kinases only at much higher concentrations. Recently it has been shown that PP242 is a more effective mTORC1 inhibitor than Rapamycin.[1][2]
