Preladenant (SCH-420814) is a potent and selective antagonist at the adenosine A2A receptor. The adenosine A(2A) receptor has been implicated in the underlying biology of various neurological and psychiatric disorders, including Parkinson's disease (PD) and depression. Preladenant is being researched as a potential treatment for Parkinson's disease. Positive results were reported in Phase II clinical trials in humans. [1][2]
