Mammalian sirtuin 1 (SIR1) is a dinucleotide-dependent histone deacetylase (HDAC) with roles in energy metabolism and inflammation. EX 527 is a cell-permeable, selective inhibitor of SIRT1 with IC50 of 98 nM. EX-527 inhibits other SIRTs only at much higher concentrations and has noe effect on other HDACs. [1][2]
