Vinorelbine was invented by the pharmacist Pierre Potier and his team from the CNRS in France in the 1980s. It is the first 5´NOR semi-synthetic vinca alkaloid and exerts its activity through the MAPK (p38) pathway with median IC90 and IC50 of 15.5 and 2.3 μM.[1][2]
